Using the Staging Environment (Mobile App)

You are able to practice in the app without causing issues with live data by using the Staging Environment facility within the app. The data in the Staging Environment is a copy from an earlier snapshot of the Production Environment. Using the Staging environment allows you to familiarise yourself with the app without anything feeding into the live data.

You can switch to the Staging environment from the login screen by selecting the cog/wheel symbol.

A box will appear - next to Use Staging Environment, switch the toggle button to the right to switch the app to Staging.

You will see a message advising that you will need to restart the app, click Understood and restart your app (by swiping to force-close your app and re-opening it).

*Note* If you do not restart the app, you will stay in the current environment (eg the Production environment) until you next restart the app.

Once you have logged in you will see a banner on the bottom right corner of the app that says ‘Staging’ so you know you are in staging.

*Note* Check daily that you are not accidentally in the staging environment otherwise any forms submitted will not show in the main production system and would need to be recreated in production using the app or Ctrl Hub web platform.

Please remember to change your app back to Production to ensure any submissions are not processed in Staging. To do this, follow the above steps and change the toggle to NOT Use Staging Environment.
