Managing Categories, Statuses & Owners
In Ctrl Hub, you can define Categories, Statuses & Owners of Equipment. This will help to sort and organise your Equipment, and provide more details for users who view the equipment.
Categories - This is where you are able to group equipment into a category such as Mobile Plant, electrical etc.
Statuses - A status can be changed on a piece of equipment to track if it is available to use, currently being serviced or damaged, this can be changed when updating equipment.
Owners - You can assign who owns a particular piece of equipment, such as an organisation, a hire company, individual etc.
Adding and updating categories, statuses and owners will help when filtering search results.
*Note* The below example will show you how to Add, Update and Archive a Category, this process is also applied to Statuses and Owners.
Creating a Category
From the left-hand navigation bar select equipment, this will expand the section to show Categories, Statuses and Owners.
Now choose Categories.
To create a category, click Create Category.
A new window will open, now enter your chosen category and then Create Category.
You will now see a success message.
Updating a Category
If you want to amend the name of the category, select the category from the list and then click Update.
A new window will appear, where you can make your changes and then Update Category.
Archiving a Category
If you no longer require a category, this can be archived.
*Note* Before archiving ensure any equipment associated with the category has been updated.
Select the category from the list that you wish to archive and now choose Archive.
A message will appear you confirm that you wish to archive, to continue click Ok otherwise press Cancel.
