Association Diagrams

Some system entities can be associated with others. For example, a Scheme may have several teams, those teams may have several members (employees), as well as vehicles or equipment. The Scheme could also have vehicles or equipment directly assigned. And those vehicles could also have equipment assigned to them. As you can probably tell, keeping track of all these associations can become quite difficult and, given that all of these associated entities contribute to the overall risk status of the entity at the top of of the hierarchy, it’s important to be able to understand the associations quickly.

An association diagram also makes it very easy to identify which entities, in the hierarchy, are at risk and get an indication of the severity.

The following example makes use of the Scheme association diagram but applies to any entity with an association diagram.

When viewing any system entity, navigate to the Details tab; if you see the Diagram button, you can view an association diagram of all the associations that entity ‘owns’:

Clicking the diagram button reveals the association diagram for the entity:

*Note* Each element is clickable and takes you to the view page for that entity.
